Allowed Predatory Lending Voted against the Hawaii Home Loan Protection Act, a bill to rewrite Hawaii’s home lending laws to curb predatory lending practices in Hawaii. This bill addressed securitization, unscrupulous fees and other practices that ultimately caused the 2008 financial meltdown. HB 2642 died in conference committee.
